Settings icons

Settings are usually a gear, sometimes a set of sliders. The gear fits app-wide preferences; sliders feel more natural for filters on a single page. Gears with six or eight teeth stay clear at small sizes, while very detailed ones turn into a fuzzy circle at 16 px. If you need both settings and filters on one screen, give each its own shape.
