Almost everyone reads a little house as "back to the start". Put it top-left, or first in a bottom menu, and nobody has to think twice. Keep it simple: a plain outline works best at small sizes, and switching to the filled version is an easy way to show that the tab is active. If your app also talks about real houses or property, use a different shape for that so the two meanings never clash.
