Privacy policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Drawico is a free icon catalogue and a set of makers for logos, documents, designs and pictures. You can use all of it without an account, and we collect as little as we can. This policy explains what we do collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. "Drawico", "we" and "us" mean the operator of drawico.com.
The short version
- Browsing, searching, downloading icons and using the editors needs no account and no personal details.
- What you make is kept in your own browser unless you choose to save it to an account or share a link to it.
- Pictures you add to the editors are processed in your browser; background removal runs on your device, or, on a device without a graphics chip for it, on our server, which deletes the picture as soon as the cut-out is sent back.
- One tool does send a file to us: the document converter sends an Office file to our server to convert it, and deletes it as soon as the result comes back. Its PDF tools work in your browser.
- We do not sell personal data and do not show personalised ads.
- Analytics that set cookies run only if you agree to them.
What we collect
When you visit. Like every website, our servers and our network provider (Cloudflare) receive your IP address, browser type and the page you ask for. We use this to deliver the site, keep it secure and stop abuse. For rate limits on forms we keep only a one-way, salted hash of the IP address that changes every day.
Searches. We count the words people search for, to improve results and add missing icons. These counts are not linked to you.
An account, if you make one. Your email address, an optional name, a password stored only as a bcrypt hash, the dates you signed up, verified your email and last logged in, and your login sessions. If you share icons, also your public handle. If you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address, your name and an account number that identifies you at Google; we keep the email, the name (which you can change) and that number, and nothing else from your Google account.
What you save to your account. Saved designs of any maker with their preview pictures, favourite icons, and icon sets you send for publishing (with the author name, link, description and cover picture you give).
The document converter. Word, Excel and PowerPoint files you convert are sent to our server, converted and deleted straight away. We do not read them, keep them or copy them. Merging, splitting and turning PDF pages, PDF to pictures and PDF to text happen in your browser and send nothing.
Links you share. "Share a link" in an editor stores a copy of that design on our server, so that the person you send the link to can open it. Anyone who has the link can see the copy.
Forms. Icon requests (the search words and an optional note) and problem reports (the message, the page, and a contact address only if you give one).
Map search in the diagram maker. The place you search for is sent from our server to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service; your IP address is not passed on. Map tiles are fetched the same way.
Why we use it
We use personal data only to:
- run your account and the features you ask for, such as saving designs and publishing shared icon sets (to perform our agreement with you);
- send the emails the service needs: email confirmation, password reset and decisions on icon sets you shared;
- keep the site secure, prevent spam and abuse, and fix errors (our legitimate interest in a safe, working service);
- measure use of the site with analytics that set cookies, only with your consent;
- meet legal obligations, for example to answer a valid request from an authority.
We do not use your data for automated decisions that affect you, and we do not build advertising profiles.
What stays in your browser
The editors save your work, your icon collection, the light or dark theme and a few view settings in your browser's storage, with the photos and music you add to a design or a slideshow. This data never leaves your device unless you save a design to your account or export a file. You can delete it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser. Details are in the cookie policy.
The Drawico app
The Android app makes the same things on your phone. Designs stay on the phone unless you save them to your account or share them. The app asks for your photos only when you pick a picture or save one to your gallery, and for the camera only when you take a photo or scan a document. To offer the holidays of your country it reads the country of your mobile network or of your internet connection; it does not read your location. Reminders are made on the phone itself and can be switched off in the app. It has no adverts and no tracking.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete the account. Deleting it removes your profile, sessions, favourites and saved designs.
- Login sessions: 30 days, or until you log out.
- Email confirmation and password reset links: until used or expired.
- Published icon sets: while they are published; you can hide them or ask us to remove them. Licences already given to people who downloaded them stay.
- Forms and reports: as long as needed to handle them, then deleted or kept without personal details.
- Server and security logs: a short time, usually no longer than 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU and UK GDPR or the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Personal Data), you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit or object to how we use it, or move it to another service. Where we rely on consent you can withdraw it at any time, which does not affect what happened before.
You can change your name and password and delete your account yourself on the account page. For anything else, contact us through the report form. We answer within one month. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The whole site runs over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as hashes, login cookies cannot be read by scripts, and sign-in attempts are rate limited. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your data we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Drawico is a general-audience tool. Accounts are for people aged 16 or older, or the age of digital consent where you live. If you believe a child gave us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes and contact
When this policy changes we update the date at the top, and for important changes we tell account holders by email. Questions about privacy are welcome through the report form.
