Questions
Which files do I need?
favicon.ico for every browser, favicon.svg for sharp tabs on modern browsers, the Apple touch icon for iPhones and iPads, and the Android icons with the web manifest for phones that add your site to the home screen. The package has them all.
Where do the files go?
In the root folder of your site, next to the home page. Then paste the lines from the box into the <head> of your pages, or into your site builder's custom code.
What is a maskable icon?
Android shows home screen icons in its own shape: a circle, a rounded square or a drop. A maskable icon keeps the artwork in the middle so nothing important is cut off.
Can I use my logo?
Yes. Make it in the logo maker first; its icon becomes the favicon. Letters work well too, because they stay readable at 16 pixels.
