What you can make

Draw a flowchart for a process, a mind map for an idea, an org chart or a family tree, a network or cloud architecture diagram, a database diagram with tables and keys, a swimlane process, a roadmap, a task board or a brainstorm with sticky notes. Start from one of 85 templates in 16 groups, or from an empty page.

How it works

  • Click or drag shapes, sticky notes, frames, tables and icons from the left panel. More than 250,000 icons from the catalogue are available.
  • Select an item and press + (or Tab) to add the next step, already connected. Drag from a dot to draw a line yourself.
  • Frames and lanes carry everything inside them when you move them, so a process or a board stays in order.
  • Layout arranges the whole diagram, or only the selected items, from top to bottom or from left to right.
  • Pictures you add can have their background removed in the editor, right in your browser.

Private by design

The editor runs in your browser. Your diagram and your pictures are not uploaded to our server (only a background removal on a device without a graphics chip sends the picture, and it is deleted at once), and you do not need an account.

Questions

Is the diagram maker free?

Yes. Every template, shape and icon is free to use, there is no sign-up, and downloads carry no watermark.

Where is my diagram saved?

In your own browser, automatically, as you work. To keep a copy or move it to another computer, use Export .drawico: it downloads an editable .drawico project file you can open again later. With a free account you can also keep diagrams online.

Can I use the diagrams in commercial work?

Yes. Your diagram is yours. The icons keep their open licences, which allow commercial use; the licence of each icon set is listed on the icon pages.

Which formats can I download?

SVG, a sharp vector file for documents, slides and websites; PNG, an image with a white or transparent background; and the editable .drawico project file for Drawico itself.
