Questions
Which kind do I need?
EAN-13 for products sold in shops, EAN-8 for small packs, UPC-A for the USA and Canada, and Code 128 for stock numbers, parcels and anything with letters.
Where do product numbers come from?
A product sold in shops needs a number registered with GS1 in your country. For your own stock, any Code 128 text works.
What is the last digit?
EAN and UPC numbers end with a check digit that scanners use to catch mistakes. Type the number without it and it is worked out for you.
Can I make many at once?
